Scott Reid, PE
OwnerScott grew up in a rural town in Illinois. He attended SIUE and attained his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in 2015. Scott earned his professional engineering license in 2022. Throughout his career in engineering, he has worked for Gonzales Companies as a site engineer, City of St. Louis Water Division as a utility engineer, St. Louis County as a building plan reviewer, and Huneke Engineering as a structural engineer. Scott is a registered engineer in Missouri and is IRC building code certified by the ICC.
Scott enjoys spending his time away from work with his family and researching cars and watches. Scott married his high school sweetheart, Bethany, in 2016. They now have two daughters named Lucy and Lena and a Shih Tzu named Ellie. He is a car enthusiast and enjoys collecting diecast cars and hot wheels.
Ryan Delbert, PE
Structural EngineerRyan attained his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Missouri–Columbia in 2016 and obtained his professional engineering license in 2021. He began his engineering career as an Assistant Track Supervisor with Norfolk Southern Railroad which provided him with hands-on experience in rail infrastructure maintenance and operations. He then transitioned to residential and commercial plan examination with St. Louis County from 2017-2023. Ryan’s time spent with St. Louis County provided him with expertise in building codes, permitting procedures, and structural review. Before joining Open Concept Engineering, Ryan was employed by MiTek Inc. as a Senior Design Structural Engineer within the wood truss division. Within that role, he expanded his technical capabilities in engineered wood systems and achieved multi-state licensure.
At Open Concept Engineering, Ryan is committed to providing efficient, code-compliant, and innovative structural solutions for residential and commercial projects.
Austin Almany
Austin is in his final year of the UMSL/WashU Joint Engineering Program, pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering. Upon graduation, he intends to continue his specialized education within the structural field.
Before joining Open Concept Engineering in January 2026, Austin served as a construction observer for Juneau Associates, where he gained diverse construction experience across roadway, sewer, water system, and structural building projects. His background also includes hands-on experience as a manual laborer assisting in the construction of decks and flooring systems. Since joining the team at OCE, Austin has been trained to complete site visits and design work under the direction of Scott and Ryan.
Outside of work and school, Austin enjoys spending his free time running, golfing, and spending time with his family and fiancée, Claire.
