Owner

Scott Reid, PE.

Scott grew up in a rural town in Illinois. He attended SIUE and attained his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in 2015. Scott earned his professional engineering license in 2022. Throughout his career in engineering, he has worked for Gonzales Companies as a site engineer, City of St. Louis Water Division as a utility engineer, St. Louis County as a building plan reviewer, and Huneke Engineering as a structural engineer. Scott is a registered engineer in Missouri and is IRC building code certified by the ICC.

Scott enjoys spending his time away from work with his family and researching cars and watches. Scott married his high school sweetheart, Bethany, in 2016. They now have two daughters named Lucy and Lena and a Shih Tzu named Ellie. He is a car enthusiast and enjoys collecting diecast cars and hot wheels.

Ryan Delbert, PE — Structural Engineer, Open Concept Engineering
01 · Structural Engineer

Ryan Delbert, PE

Structural Engineer · Multi-State Licensed P.E.

Ryan attained his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Missouri–Columbia in 2016 and obtained his professional engineering license in 2021. He began his engineering career as an Assistant Track Supervisor with Norfolk Southern Railroad, then transitioned to residential and commercial plan examination with St. Louis County from 2017–2023. That time gave him deep expertise in building codes, permitting procedures, and structural review.

Before joining Open Concept Engineering, Ryan served as a Senior Design Structural Engineer at MiTek Inc., expanding his capabilities in engineered wood systems and achieving multi-state licensure. At OCE, he is committed to providing efficient, code-compliant, and innovative structural solutions for every project.

02 · Engineering Intern

Austin Almany

Civil Engineering Intern · Structural Emphasis

Austin is in his final year of the UMSL/WashU Joint Engineering Program, pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering. Upon graduation, he intends to continue his specialized education within the structural field.

Before joining Open Concept Engineering in January 2026, Austin served as a construction observer for Juneau Associates, gaining diverse experience across roadway, sewer, water system, and structural building projects. Since joining the team, he has been trained to complete site visits and design work under the direction of Scott and Ryan.

Outside of work and school, Austin enjoys running, golfing, and spending time with his family and fiancée, Claire.
